Headcount Optimizer™
Friends of Figma Portland ran a Make-a-thon. We got a random prompt, Tech Calculator, and an hour to build. I paired up with a designer I just met, Milo, and we came up with the future.
It’s a very serious enterprise dashboard that turns tokens into layoffs, and lets you turn layoffs into yachts. We won my first design award ever, for Funniest.
Product Demo
It’s live and clickable. Pick a department, optimize it, then go spend the savings.
How it got built
-
Brainstorm
We knew we wanted a calculator that every Tech company would love to wield.
-
Mocked it up
Sketched the dashboard in Figma Make, then built the whole thing as one HTML file with Claude so it would be easy to share.
-
Kept going
The hour ran 6:30 to 7:30, then we presented. The crowd ate it up, everybody wanted to liquidate their workforce! Once I got home I put a few touches on it to get it up on my website.
Award-winning
Funniest at the Friends of Figma Portland Make-a-thon, 2026. This might be the greatest award I’ve ever won.
